Photometry
Aperture photometry enables you to measure the brightness of stars in an
image. The powerful partial-pixel calculations in Astra Image
mean that you get accurate results every time. And Astra Image
makes photometry so simple you can be making accurate measurements in
literally seconds.
To add an aperture and make a measurement, all you need to do is click
on a star. Astra Image automatically calculates the centroid and
places the aperture. The size of the apertures and the background
calculation method can be adjusted at any time and all results update
instantly. |

Photometry Results
After making photometric measurements, the results can be added to a
report. From the report the results can be saved as a comma
separated value (csv) file. Or you can make a graph showing the
differences in magnitudes.
A wide range of statistics is calculated and reported including
signal-to-noise ratio, uncertainty and the raw counts for the aperture
and background.

Exporting to Microsoft Excel
In addition, results can be directly exported to Microsoft Excel for
further analysis and charting. Just click the button on the toolbar and
Astra Image will start Excel and send the results. (For this to work, of
course, you must have Microsoft Excel installed on your computer). |
